"I was diagnosed with alcohol related fatty liver disease and early signs of cirrhosis. I also have oesophageal varices, a slightly enlarged spleen and a low platelet count. This has led to inflammation of my stomach and muscles as well as overall increased fatigue, insomnia and high stress levels.
I was advised by my doctor to give up alcohol and lose weight. I gave up alcohol in September 2023 and have managed to sustain this without any need for external help or guidance. My overall diet and lifestyle was much harder to change without support. I have an incredibly sweet tooth and am particularly prone to sugar binges in the evening. My nutrition needed lots of changes and vast improvements. Until my diagnosis I had been very much a beige food and a beer kind of man. I avoided fruit, veg and most forms of exercise. I found dietary changes difficult to put in practice without any expert support and advice.
Having chatted to Juliana and researched her online presence, I was aware of her wealth of knowledge in the benefits of natural food based nutrients and their role in the lifestyle I was trying to achieve. Juliana offers the kind of advice that’s completely non-judgmental and instead a kind, caring and guiding voice. She encourages sticking to a plan, but is also aware of how easy it can be to fall into old habits. This is the perfect way of changing for me, as I don’t respond very well to the “No..no..no” approach.
Within a month of starting my sessions with Juliana that I noticed the change in my body. I felt less lethargic, and my aches and pains lessened. My “ Oooo’s and Ahhh’s” when moving from sitting to standing disappeared, and I am no longer that man who struggles getting out of bed and stretching to reach a shelf or the floor.
Cutting out sugar and finding my energy source from a healthy nutritious option has meant weight loss and that in itself has improved my energy levels. My blood results and recent scans are already showing signs of improvement. This is due to tracking exactly what I am eating and particularly making sure my plate adheres to the rainbow system Juliana has introduced me to.
I am now getting at least seven and half hours sleep a night whereas previously I was lucky to get six. I am starting my day with a protein fuelled breakfast which is enabling me to avoid the mid-morning / mid-afternoon sugar snack break. My snacks are now nuts and seeds rather than a chocolate bar and crisps. When I want a treat, I will have it but I keep them to a minimum. If I do have a treat, I try to have a smaller portion than I would’ve done previously.
I am now going to the gym to build muscle. This is another element to Juliana’s advice and practice. She has enabled me to gain a greater understanding of how muscle growth is also a key element to my healthy diet. Breaking my lifestyle habits of high sugar content, not enough sleep or exercise would not have been achievable without the professional and caring guidance I have received. I have a greater knowledge of what I use to fuel my body and a deeper respect for my health and wellbeing due to my sessions with Juliana.
Having shed excess weight and gained muscle over the last few months I have much more energy and feel I am well on the way to a longer life. My main goal when starting the sessions was to be able to be more active for my 3-year-old daughter. I didn’t want to be that dad who was too tired to play. I can now keep up with her energy and enthusiasm. Something I was missing before I started putting into practice the techniques, knowledge and information Juliana has provided."
