1:1 Nutrition & Lifestyle Support

Juliana Gedney in face to face consultation with a client

1:1 support for when cognitive changes start feeling like more than 'just age'

You may be noticing cognitive changes that concern you, or you may already have a diagnosis and want to optimise your nutrition and lifestyle to support your overall wellbeing.

These consultations offer personalised, root-cause support to help you feel more like yourself again and maintain the independence and mental clarity that matter so much to you.

Supporting your brain health means looking beyond the brain itself. We'll explore how hormones, gut health, inflammation, blood sugar balance, nutrient levels and more, all influence your cognitive function. These systems are deeply connected, and together we'll build a personalised plan that addresses the whole picture alongside your existing medical care.

This Is Ideal If You Want To…

  • Move beyond 'wait and see' to taking positive action that supports your overall health and wellbeing.

  • Take action on memory loss, brain fog, low mood or poor concentration, instead of worrying about what lies ahead.

  • Understand what might be driving your symptoms, and how nutrition and lifestyle could help stabilise or slow changes.

  • Use functional testing to highlight hidden patterns affecting your brain health, so instead of guessing, you're working with data.

  • Get clarity on which supplements may actually support you, and which are a waste of money.

  • Feel more like yourself again: clear, capable, confident.

  • Stop feeling overwhelmed by generic advice and get personalised, step-by-step support.

  • Work with someone who takes your concerns seriously and helps you build a plan that fits your life.

What Working Together Looks Like

I offer structured, personalised support to help you move from effort without progress, to feeling clear, capable, and in control of your health.

You can choose between a 3-month or 6-month programme, depending on the level of support you need.

The Core Programme Includes:

  • Initial Consultation (90 minutes):
I take time to understand your symptoms, medical history, current diet, lifestyle and goals. I can then begin to identify the key drivers behind what you’re experiencing.

  • Follow-Up Consultations (60 minutes, monthly):
We review progress, adjust your plan, explore additional factors influencing your health, and set clear targets for the weeks ahead.

  • Email Support Between Sessions:
Check in with any questions about your plan, supplements, or next steps.

  • 15% Discount on Recommended Supplements.

Optional Add-On: Accountability Support

Some clients benefit from additional connection between sessions. By choosing the Premium Package, you also get short 15-30 minute check-ins at the midpoint of each month, for extra accountability, motivation, or support when challenges arise.

Frequently Asked Questions

I've been told there's nothing I can do - can nutrition really help?

While nutrition cannot treat or cure cognitive conditions, there's substantial research showing how it can support brain health, energy levels, mood, and overall wellbeing. Your brain needs specific nutrients to function optimally, and addressing factors like inflammation, blood sugar balance, and gut health can make a meaningful difference to how you feel day-to-day.

Will this interfere with my medical treatment?

Not at all. Nutritional therapy is a complementary approach, and I work alongside your existing healthcare providers to ensure all recommendations are safe, appropriate, and well-coordinated. I'll never suggest you change or stop any prescribed medications - that's always a decision between you and your doctor.

I'm already taking supplements for brain health. Isn't that enough?

Many people are taking supplements without knowing if they're actually needed or working effectively. Through functional testing and detailed assessment, we can identify which nutrients your body actually requires, rather than taking a scattergun approach. We'll also look at factors like gut health and absorption that affect whether supplements are actually benefiting you.

How do I know this isn't just another fad or false hope?

There's a lot of misleading information in the nutrition space, so I understand your scepticism. My approach is grounded in functional medicine principles and evidence-based research. I'm not promising miracles, but rather achievable, practical strategies to support your brain's optimal function using nutrition and lifestyle changes that have solid scientific evidence to support them.

I'm worried about cognitive decline. Am I too late to start?

It is really never too late to support your brain health. The nutrition and lifestyle approaches that support cognitive function also promote cardiovascular health, reduce inflammation, and support overall vitality and longevity. Many clients find that taking positive action also helps them feel more in control and less anxious about the future.

What if I can't remember to follow the recommendations?

This is a very common and valid concern. We'll work together to create simple, realistic strategies that fit into your existing routine. I provide written plans, and we can involve family members for support if you'd like. We'll start with just one or two realistic changes at a time, building gradually rather than overwhelming you with an unsustainable lifestyle overhaul.

I don't have a diagnosis yet. Is this still relevant for me?

Absolutely. Supporting your brain health proactively is one of the best investments you can make in your future wellbeing. Whether you're experiencing early concerns like brain fog and memory lapses, or you simply want to maintain your cognitive health as you age, nutrition plays a vital role in brain function at every stage of life.

How is this different from general healthy eating advice?

While general healthy eating is important, brain health requires a more targeted approach. We'll look specifically at nutrients that support cognitive function, address inflammation that affects the brain, optimise blood sugar balance for steady mental energy, and explore the gut-brain connection. This goes beyond generic advice. Instead, it's personalised to your individual needs, symptoms, and health history.

Do I need to do functional testing?

Functional testing isn't essential, but it does provide valuable insights that help us create a more targeted approach. These tests can reveal nutrient deficiencies, inflammatory markers, gut health status, and other factors that might be affecting your brain function. We'll discuss whether testing would be helpful for your specific situation during your consultation. There's never any pressure, and we can achieve great results with or without additional testing.
