I’m Juliana Gedney, a registered nutritional therapist specialising in personalised, evidence-based strategies to support physical resilience, metabolic health, and long-term wellbeing.​

​Many of the clients who come to me are training consistently, eating well, and prioritising their health but still not seeing the progress they expected. Body composition, fluctuating energy, digestive symptoms, or low mood may remain an issue.

 

Using the principles of functional medicine, I help active individuals identify what’s really holding them back and create a targeted, personalised plan that supports performance, recovery, and lasting health.

Personalised support for your health and training goals, whether that’s improving body composition, boosting energy, or working through gut or hormone-related issues. Using the principles of functional medicine, I create tailored plans with regular reviews and expert input at every stage. Consultations are available online or in-person (North Kent).

Do I need to be an athlete to work with you?


Not at all. Many of my clients train regularly at the gym, enjoy group fitness or endurance sports, or simply want to feel fitter and stronger. You don’t need to be competing, you just need to care about your health and want to improve how you feel.

Can nutrition really help with performance and recovery?

​

Absolutely! Supporting your body with the right nutrition improves energy availability, workout quality, and how well you recover between sessions. It's the foundation of both physical and mental performance. I also take into account sleep, stress, inflammation, and nutrient status, all of which influence how your body performs and adapts to training.

I already eat well. What else will you look at?

​

Your current diet is an important part of the picture, but we also explore what else might be getting in the way of progress. That could include gut health, inflammation, stress response, nutrient status, or whether your intake is aligned with your training load and goals. I approach this using the principles of functional lens, looking at root causes rather than just surface-level symptoms.

Do you offer testing and supplement guidance?

 

Yes. Where appropriate, I may recommend functional testing (e.g. digestive health, nutrient status) and advise on a personalised supplement protocol. These are always optional and tailored to your individual needs.

Can you help with things like bloating or hormonal symptoms too?

​

Yes. I regularly support clients managing digestive conditions (such as IBD), hormonal imbalances, or mental health challenges alongside their training. Your plan will reflect the full picture of your health.

Can I work with you if I’m under a GP or consultant for a health condition?

​

Yes. Nutritional therapy is a complementary approach that can work alongside primary medical care. With your consent, I’m happy to liaise with your GP or consultant to ensure that any recommendations are appropriate, safe, and well coordinated.

Are there any conditions you don’t work with?

​

There are some diagnoses that fall outside of my professional remit. If I believe your needs would be better supported by another practitioner, I’ll always let you know and, where possible, refer you to someone suitable. We can discuss this during a pre-consultation review before moving forward.
